FY 2024: HUD Continuum of Care Homeless Assistance Funding Available

The US Department of Housing and Urban Renewal has announced the availability of FY 2024 Continuum of Care funds to assist homeless persons and families in Utica, Rome, Oneida and Madison Counties (CoC NY-518). Organizations and agencies who have not previously received CoC Program funding are encouraged to apply and CoC Planners will work to support the application process for proposals that meet one or more of the CoC’s priorities for FY 2024.

Please note that as of 8/12/2024, the CoC Estimated Annual Renewal Demand Report, which provides each CoC with the Preliminary Pro Rata Need (PPRN), Estimated ARD, CoC Bonus, DV Bonus, and CoC Planning, has not been released by HUD. When the Annual Renewal Demand Report is released by HUD, an addendum to the linked RFP will be released to reflect any necessary changes.

Local Project Application Deadline:

Renewal Project Applications to the Mohawk Valley Housing and Homeless Coalition (CoC NY-518) are due on: September 20th, 2024 at 12:00 PM.

New Project Applications to the Mohawk Valley Housing and Homeless Coalition (CoC NY-518) are due on: September 27th, 2024 at 12:00 PM.

Update:

HUD's CoC Estimated Annual Renewal Report was released on 8/11/22. There is up to $3,723,312 available (not including “bonus” funds) for projects for our CoC region that covers Utica, Rome, Oneida and Madison Counties, NY.  

NOTE: HUD encourages the reallocation of a portion of this amount to new project proposals if existing projects are underperforming.

There is also potential additional “bonus” funding available if our CoC Consolidated Application is strong enough to score sufficient points from HUD.  Maximum additional funding for FY 2022 includes $302,112 for projects exclusively serving those fleeing from a domestic violence, sexual assault, or stalking situation and therefore homeless; and another approximately $186K for new homeless assistance projects that address one or more of the CoC’s current priorities.

Funding Available:  

HUD Continuum of Care Supplemental Notice of Funding Opportunity to Address Unsheltered Homelessness

On June 23rd, 2022 the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) released an historic one-time Continuum of Care Supplemental Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) to Address Unsheltered and Rural Homelessness in the amount of $322 million to support Continuums of Care in reducing unsheltered homelessness.  

The Mohawk Valley Housing and Homeless Coalition is eligible to apply for a maximum award amount of $3,536,124 over the course of a 3-year initial grant term. 

Organizations and agencies who have not previously received CoC Program funding are encouraged to apply and CoC Planners will work to support the application process for proposals that meet one or more of the CoC’s priorities for this Special NOFO – as indicated in the RFP. 

Local Project Application Deadline:

Applications to the Mohawk Valley Housing and Homeless Coalition (CoC NY-518) for new project funding under this Special NOFO are due by September 16th, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. (noon).

FY 2021: HUD Continuum of Care Homeless Assistance Funding Available

The US Department of Housing and Urban Renewal has announced the availability of FY 2021 Continuum of Care funds to assist homeless persons and families in Utica, Rome, Oneida and Madison Counties (CoC NY-518). There is up to $3,412,153 available (not including “bonus” funds) for projects for our CoC region that covers Utica, Rome, Oneida and Madison Counties, NY.  NOTE: HUD encourages the reallocation of a portion of this amount to new project proposals if existing projects are not performing well.

There is also potential additional “bonus” funding available if our CoC Consolidated Application is strong enough to score efficient points from HUD.  Maximum additional funding for FY 2021 includes $505,454 for projects exclusively serving those fleeing from a domestic violence situation and therefore homeless and another approximately $170K for new homeless assistance projects that address one or more of the CoC’s current priorities.

Organizations and agencies who have not previously received CoC Program funding are encouraged to apply and CoC Planners will work to support the application process for proposals that meet one or more of the CoC’s priorities for FY 2021 – as indicated in the RFP.

FY 2019: HUD Continuum of Care Homeless Assistance Funding Available
